Lindisfarne - Hobart Sydney challenge
The beautiful waters of the Derwent hosted 16 Firebugs for the inaugural Firebug class interclub event in Australia.
The visitors from Concord Ryde Sailing Club expressed their gratitude to Commodore John Lawrie and the team led by Des Clark and Marly. Great effort guys, Thanks. RESULTS SUMMARY
Overall, winner was LSC’s Oli Pritchard and second was international representative sailor Max Gluskie returning to his original mount from the Laser 4.7. Third place went to Thom Hardman from Concord Ryde and the most improved prize was awarded to eleven year old Luke Franklin also of CRSC. In the light conditions on Sunday, Luke achieve two third places. First adult, in 7th place was CRSC’s Philip Sullivan. Oli Pritchard achieved a remarkable success with 3 firsts, a second and a third. Max Gluskie gained 1 first, 3 seconds and a fourth. Third place and first CRSC sailor was Thom Hardman with 1 first, 1 fourth, 2 fifths and 1 ninth position. Highest position in an individual race by an adult was 3rd by Phil Sullivan (CRSC) in the second race. The heavier sailors were very competitive in the stronger winds on Saturday, while the lighter sailors dominated in the light winds on Sunday. Finally, special thanks to the people who lent their boats to the sailors from CRSC. Without your generosity, the event could not have taken place. |
